Renewal of Vows

An opportunity for couples to renew and celebrate their commitment

Our Renewal of Vows ceremony is a wonderful way of celebrating a special anniversary of the date of a marriage or civil partnership, although the ceremony is just as appropriate for couples at any stage of their marriage or civil partnership.

These ceremonies can also provide an opportunity for a couple who may have got married abroad, to celebrate with family and friends who were unable to travel to the wedding.

Your unique ceremony
You will work closely with one of our experienced celebrants to select from the options available, and tailor a ceremony that will be special for you and your family.  Every ceremony is different, so you can create something unique for you to remember and treasure.

Just as no two couples are the same, no two ceremonies to renew their vows will be the same.  Special people in your lives can take part in your ceremony, your children, guests who were at your wedding and any friends or members of your family.  You will also need to ask two people to witness the signing of the certificate of the event.

Venues that hold current fire and safety regulations and public liability insurance will be deemed suitable to hold a Renewal of Vows ceremony.  Please note however that private homes are not considered suitable.  A list of Registration Offices and Approved Premises which are licensed for civil marriages and civil partnership ceremonies are listed in this brochure and are excellent locations for renewal of marriage vows ceremonies as these premises are experienced at holding such events.

We have even conducted Renewal of Vows ceremonies in some lakeside outdoor locations, sometimes following very closely after a legal civil marriage in a Registration Office or other licensed venue.

If you wish to discuss the suitability of a particular location please contact one of the Registration Offices.
