NuGen Moorside Project Consultation

Nugeneration Limited (NuGen) is currently working on plans to construct and operate a new nuclear power station on land to the west and north of the existing Sellafield site, known as Moorside.  Moorside power station would be the largest nuclear power station in the UK, with an output of up to 3,800 megawatts.

NuGen will need to apply to the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy for permission to build the new power station.  They intend to submit their Development Consent Order (DCO) application in April 2017.  Before doing so, they must consult with all those people who live in the vicinity of the site, and with other interested bodies.

There were two consultation stages:

Stage 1 ran from the 16th May 2015 to the 25th July 2015.

Stage 2 ran from Saturday 14th May 2016 to 30th July 2016.
