Road resurfacing will take place in New Market Street, Ulverston this month.
The programming of the work has been designed to cause minimum disruption for motorists and is set to last for three days. All residents and businesses in the immediate area have been informed.
Advance notice signs warning drivers also went up last week.
This essential maintenance will require the closure of New Market Street between Cross Street and Market Street for three days, starting at 8.00am on Monday, September 29.
Vehicles are expected to be granted limited overnight access.
