The latest steps in an ongoing scheme to improve and resurface the A595 in West Cumbria will be going ahead from next week.
The vital resurfacing work, which is part of a rolling programme that kicked off in July, will involve limited overnight road closures and some speed reductions - although these have been timed to cause minimum disruption to motorists.
Details are as follows:
Road closures:
September 18-19 10pm-6am - closed from Corney Fell Junction to Monk Foss Farm.
September 22-26 10pm-6am –closed from Farm Track to Monk Foss Farm.
November 6-7 10pm-6am –closed from Newmill Farm to Bowood Junction.
January 19-21 10pm-6am –closed from Buckman Hall to Duddon Bridge.
January 22-23 10pm-6am –closed from Halthwaites Junction to Buckman Hall.
The following speed restrictions will also be applied for safety reasons while the work is taking place:
October 6-10 10mph speed limit 24 hours per day between Wabberthwaite Junction and Middleton Place.
October 17 10mph speed limit between 10pm and 6am from Drigg Junction to Saltcoates Junction.
October 20-24 10mph speed limit 24 hours per day between Eskdale Junction and Broadoak Junction.
November 3-4 10mph speed limit 24 hours per day between Greengarth Junction and Drigg Junction.
