Every effort is being made to continue county council business as usual in the aftermath of the floods which have hit parts of the county - particularly in Allerdale. We would urge all people to check before attending neighbourhood forums on whether they are going ahead. Please contact your local area office. Contact details can be found here.
Neighbourhood Forums are an opportunity for you to get involved in issues affecting your area, and to get information about local services. How could things be improved? You can talk to decision makers and local residents, and raise your own ideas for community improvement.
There are over 60 Neighbourhood Forums in Cumbria, each meeting at least four times a year. The forums, organised by our dedicated area support teams, are informal meetings which welcome members of the public, representatives of organisations and local Councillors.
Forums take many forms. Meetings can be arranged with visiting speakers, they can also be ‘drop in’ sessions where community members can discuss issues of local concern, or participatory appraisals where community members and public services can develop an approach to deal with local concerns. Forums also give organisations an opportunity to develop participatory budgeting approaches.
