Egress Switch adds an additional layer of security (encryption) to emails, to ensure that personal information can be transferred safely. We use it to communicate securely with organisations and individuals outside the Council, including members of the public.
The first time you receive an encrypted email from us you will be prompted to set up a free account so that you can read the email and reply to it confidentially. You only need to set up an account once, and it only takes a few moments to do.
'Egress Switch' is a specialist service used by lots of councils, government departments and private companies to keep information secure.
Egress provide free desktop and mobile apps which can be downloaded from their website. If you want to use Egress Switch without downloading software you can use the web access tool.
