Does your business or household receive a Public Information Booklet regarding emergency response at BAE?

Find out more below.

The area receiving the Public Information Booklet and pre issued Potassium Iodate Tablets will be changing from Autumn 2015. The area will now cover the wards of Walney South, Walney North, Hindpool, Central and Barrow Island. The area to the east of the railway line who currently receive the Public Information Booklet will no longer require the booklet.

In December 2014 The Office for Nuclear Regulation determined a revised area around the Barrow nuclear sites where the local authority, in this case Cumbria County Council, is required to have an emergency plan in place to protect the public in the unlikely event of a radiation emergency. It is important to stress that there has been no change to the level of risk or the emergency procedures.
