At 02:38 firefighters were called to a grass and gorse fire at Walney Golf Club, on Central Drive, Walney. Crews found seats of fire, one approximately 10m by 10m which was put out using beaters, and one approximately 20m by 20m which was put out by a hose reel jet.

At 14:16 firefighters were called to a house fire on Lake Road, Windermere. Crews from Windermere and Ambleside attended the incident. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to put out the fire which was in a first floor extension in a block of flats. To access the fire crews used 10m ladders.

At 20:16 firefighters were called to a house fire on Lumley Street, Barrow-in-Furness. Two fire engines, one from Barrow-in-Furness and one from Walney, attended the incident which was a mattress on fire in a bedroom. The mattress was well alight on arrival and crews, two wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to put out the fire. They then checked the house using a thermal imaging camera.

At 18:08 firefighters were called to a small fire at the back of the Giggling Goose Café where rotting timbers were on fire. Crews, one from Ambleside and one from Windermere, attended the incident on North Road, Ambleside, and used one hose reel jet with two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus to bring the fire under control. The incident lasted for one hour.

At 18:57 firefighters were called to a fire in a burner room of a commercial property on Kimberley Clark Park Road, Barrow-in-Furness. Three fire engines, one from Barrow-in-Furness, one from Ulverston and one from Walney, attended the incident. Firefighters, two wearing breathing apparatus, used one hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera and a main jet to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for three hours.

At 05:29 firefighters were called to a report of a car fire on the M6 north just past Burton services. A hose reel jet was used to cool the engine. Smoke from the engine was drifting across the motorway.

At 21:30 firefighters were called to a kitchen fire on Friargate. The kitchen measured 8m x 8m and was heavily involved in fire. Firefighters, four wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets to bring the blaze under control. A thermal imaging camera was then used to make sure there were no hotspots that could reignite. A high pressure fan was used to ventilate the property.

At 15:40 firefighters were called to a chimney on fire in Lees Hill, Brampton. The crew found a chimney which was well alight and used specialist equipment and chimney rods to extinguish the fire. A thermal imaging camera was also used to check the chimney before the crew left.

At 19:26 firefighters were called to a kitchen fire at a property on Latrigg Street, Silloth. Two fire engines, one from Aspatria and one from Silloth, attended the incident. The fire was located in the kitchen and crews used two breathing apparatus, cutting equipment, a thermal imaging camera and one hose reel jet to control and extinguish the fire. One person was treated by crews suffering from slight smoke inhalation. Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour.

Crews rescued one casualty from the house. They were at the scene for approximately 45 minutes.

At 00:16 firefighters were called to a static caravan fire on Rayrigg Road, Windermere. The caravan was well alight on arrival on crews wearing breathing apparatus, from Windermere and Staveley, used two hose reel jets to cool gas cylinders before they were removed by the firefighters. The static caravan was totally destroyed by the fire. Crews were at the scene for approximately two hours.

At 00:03 two fire engines from Whitehave and Egremont attended a road traffic collison involving a minibus and a car on Egremont Road in St Bees. Firefighters released one female casualty from the car using hydraulic equipment. Paramedics took the casualty to hospital.

At 07:00 firefighters were called to rescue a cow which had got stuck in a river at Howgill, Sedbergh. Crews from Kendal and Sedbergh used a winch, lines and one telescopic handler on a agricultural vehicle to rescue the animal. Crews were on the scene for two hours and 45 minutes.

At 07:40 firefighters were called to a fuel spill at a garage on Oubas Hill, Ulverston. A bin lorry had destroyed a fuel pump which had caused a large amount of fuel to spill on the forecourt of the Shell garage. Crews sprayed the spillage with foam to prevent any fire and handed the incident back to the garage.

At 12:05 two fire engines from Ambleside and Windermere were called to a two vehicle road traffic collision on Lake Road, Ambleside, after reports that two people were trapped. Firefighters used cutting equipment to extract two casualties from the vehicles. One of the casualties was taken to hospital via air ambulance. Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour 40 minutes.

At 10:56 firefighters were called to Church Street, Windermere, after a two vehicle road traffic collision left a woman trapped in a car. Crews used a cutting equipment and assisted paramedics to remove her from the vehicle. She was then handed over to the care of the paramedics. Crews from Windermere and Staveley were at the scene for around one hour.
