At 11:07 firefighters were called to a two vehicle road traffic collision on the A591 at Helsington, Kendal. Two fire engines from Kendal attended the incident and extracted one casualty from a vehicle using hydraulic cutting equipment and small tools. They gave first aid to the casualty before handing over to the care of paramedics. Crews were in attendance for 45 minutes.

At 01:52 firefighters were called to a fire at a detached domestic property on High Hundhowe, Burneside. Eight fire engines from Cumbria attended the incident which involved the ground and first floor of the property, measuring approximately 15m by 20m. Fire crews, two wearing breathing apparatus, used four compressed air foam system jets, three main jets, two hose reel jets, two 12.5m ladders and height safety equipment to put out the fire.
Crews were detained at the scene overnight, until 4pm whilst crews checked the structural integrity of the building and damped down the house.

The crews then cleared smoke from the property using a large fan. Crews were at the scene for 35 minutes.

The garden was under three feet of water and the wall of one properties had come down. The crew used a light portable pump to remove water from the properties to nearby fields.

At 10:49 firefighters were called to Mylnebeck Court, Windermere to flooding. Cars were pushing water towards a premises and sandbags were needed. The crew assisted with the rescue of two people stuck in a property that had three feet of water outside and was entering a property. A pump was used to divert water from the property and police were in attendance.

Fortunately nobody was trapped and there was no fire. Crews made the scene safe by stabilising the vehicles. The scene was left with the police once a recovery vehicle had removed the cars.

At 06:40 firefighters were called to a disused school on Edenfold, Bolton, in Appleby-in-Westmorland. Crews, one from Appleby and two from Sedbergh, used two hose reel jets and two thermal imaging cameras to bring the fire under control. A fire investigation is underway into the cause of the fire. The Police have also attended the incident.
