Many services are provided free of charge to schools through County Council funding, in order to meet our statutory responsibilities, and to help achieve our priority outcomes for children and young people. In addition, a number of high quality, professional, value-for-money services are available on a traded basis to schools, academies and other educational or childcare settings. These are usually available through service level agreements or 'pay as you go' purchases.
Educational support services include Learning Improvement and Inclusion advice, Governor Support, provision of Teaching Assistants, Outdoor Education, Music Service, and a wide range of training courses.
Other 'back office' services include ICT Support, Facilities Management and Building Support Services, Health & Safety and Educational Visits Advice, Legal Advice, HR Advice and Payroll.
The Traded Services team co-ordinate a training programme for school based staff and governors: Cumbria's Training Events for School Based Staff and Governors. This programme brings together the courses which are delivered through the Cumbria Continuing Professional Development, Local Learning Network and Governor Development Programmes.
